The Niagara Flower and Lantern Festival (From June~)

From the beginning of June in Oishi park come and enjoy the "Niagara waterfall of flowers" and lantern festival. A beautiful view of Mount Fuji with flowers and lanterns. There are always seasonal flowers blooming along the walking paths around Oishi park and the nature building.

Shojiko Lake Fishing Meet (9 / 23)

Shojiko is famous for lake carp. This years event is the first ever carp fishing competition at Shojiko Lake. There is beautiful forest and mountain scenery around the lake and a beautiful view of Mt.Fuji. Come and enjoy fishing and scenery.

Mt.Fuji Trail Run (10/2)

The trail run will be held in the foothills of Mt.Fuji covering Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Saiko.
The rail runs through the beautiful Aokigahara "sea of trees" with spectacular views of Mt.Fuji and the five lakes. The main meeting area at Oike park has a spacious green lawn for the event to be enjoyed.

Forest Trail Run - Motosuko and Shojiko (10 /17 )

Forest trail run through beautiful Motosuko and Shojiko forest area. Long and short run courses both available.
The short course has a few ups and downs and is challenging enough as recommended for beginners. The long course includes two mountain trails and is recommended only for experienced trail runners. Both courses go through the rare and mysterious Aokigahara "sea of trees" forest, where rare flora and fauna can be seen, and include beautiful views of Mt.Fuji and the lakes.

Fujigane Farm Festival (middle of October)

The Fujigane Farm Festival is held in the largest livestock raising area in Yamanashi prefecture, in the foothills of Mt. Fuji. You can enjoy many farm foods and dairy products, as well as local fruits, vegetables and other treats.

Please come to Fujigane highlands plateau and experience the beauty of the countryside.

Fuji Kawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Festival will be held from October 31 to November 23 in Fuji Kawaguchiko Town amongst the beauty of the colorful Maple trees.

Nikkan Sports Cycle Grand Prize Race ( November 14th )

The ultimate cycling race of eastern Japan. About 2000 athletes compete around Lake Saiko circuit in the late fall.
There are various races such for the professional, beginner and school children alike.

Kawaguchiko Nikkan Sports Marathon (November, 29th )

Over 10,000 runners compete around Lake Kawaguchiko circuit in the fall season. Famous for having one of the greatest sceneries of any marathon in Japan, it has become the most popular among the "Resort Marathons". Experience the beauty of Mt. "Niagara Illumination" - Winter Wave of Lights (December 1 to January 31, 2010)

A one of a kind winter illumination.
Enjoy the 3 meter high, 330 meter long string of winter illumination lights, which viewed in the crisp winter night, flows like the falls of Niagara. A beautiful free site, with Kawaguchiko Lake and Mt.Fuji in the backround!

The 5th Annual Winter Star Festival (January 1, 2010 to January 17)

The fifth annual Winter Star Festival of Fujikawaguchiko. With the beautiful backdrop of sacred Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko, people come to write their wishes for the new year. Attaching our wish papers to small bamboo, we entrust them to be carried to the gods by balloon.

The special illuminations of the Star Festival decoration is from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Lake Sai・Lake Kawaguchi Ice Festival (1 / 23 ~ 2 / 14)

During the winter in Lake Kawaguchi, one can enjoy the beauty of the season with the ice festival. There are two places to enjoy the art of winter: The "Silver Frost Festival” at Wild Bird's Forest Park and the "Ice festival" at Oike Park. The natural ice sculpting of "silver frost" which can reach heights of 10m is breathtaking in the winter setting. At night, they are lit up for your enjoyment.

The 13th Annual Winter Fireworks - (from January 16th ~ )

“Kawaguchiko Winter Fireworks”- the fireworks in Kawaguchiko are a spectacular and famous event.

What more beautiful setting could there be for a fireworks display - with the beautiful illumination of over 1,500 fireworks bursting in the clear winter night, and reflected in the glass surface of Lake Kawaguchi!!

And why not treat yourself to a warming hot-spring after having enjoyed the lovely fireworks.

Mt. Fuji / Kawaguchiko movie festival( 2010 / 2 / 20,21)

In correspondence to Mt.Fuji day on February 23rd,the annual Mt.Fuji / Kawaguchiko film festival will be held. Screening of the winning screenplay based on the theme of the Mt.Fuji area, and other select films.

Kawaguchi Sengen Shrine Annual Festival on April 25th

Magomi matsuri is the name for the Kawaguchi Sengen Shrine Annual Festival. The ancient dance to the local shinto gods "Chigonomai" is performed in traditional dress and music amongst the ancient cedars of the venerable forest shrine.

Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine Annual Spring Festival on April 25th

Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine is Mt. Fuji's oldest shrine. Takeda Shingen worshiped at the shrine. "Hana Matsuri" is the name for Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine annual spring festival. There are many festival stands and attractions in the shrine on that day, providing a truly festive atmosphere.

Katsuyama Horseback Archery Festival (April 29)

The festival, with a history of over 900 years begins with the traditional ceremony for good fortune in battle - a ceremony that tells of the bravery of the samurai of feudal Japan. The ceremony ends in a dramatic display of real archery from horseback. At the sound of the drums, the horses dash forward, kicking sand into the air. The archer aims and fires in an impressive display of marksmanship. This spectacular finale is like something from the picture scrolls of the warring state period of Japan.

Motosu Nobilities Parade (May 17)

Motosu Nobilities Parade is a traditional festival which has been held for 300 years. It is held on May 17th. Motosu Nobilities Parade dates back to the Edo era. The festival celebrates the history of the local historical figure Hitoyanosuke Watanabe. He was in charge of gaurding the border "Motosu Sekisho Gate" for Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa. The celebration brings one back to the atmoshphere of the Edo-era.

Saiko Road Race ( June 20)

Let's run and feel the breeze of Lake Saiko and "the sea of trees." The annual Saiko Road Race is held at beautiful lake Saiko, Mt.Fuji. Kawaguchiko ・Mt.Fuji Opening Fireworks Festival

On the first Saturday in July, the Fireworks display commemorates the opening of the climbing season of Mt.Fuji.

Lake Saiko's Fireworks Festival ( 8 / 2 )

A festival of Ryūgū(dragon king) shrine to celebrate the goddess of water, Toyotamahimenomikoto. The illumination of Japanese floating lanterns and the wonderful fireworks weave together to turn the lakeside into an fantasy world.
