Lake Motosu Kuge procession

It is one of the festival events of the mountain shrine on the shore of Lake Motosu.
This is a historical picture scroll that is held on 5/17 every year.
In the Kuge procession, 24 people in the area wearing the costumes of Kuge and samurai, led by the priest, parade along the national highway from the shrine. The origin is not clear, but Shingen Takeda was remorseful that he couldn't make it, and even though the local residents of the Edo period started to imitate the customs of Kyoto, the Tokugawa family ordered him to guard the Honsu Sekisho. It is said that Watanabe Hitoya no Suke) started to inspire the morale of young people.
