Japanese Paper Doll Museum "Kamiwarabeno Kura"

“Kamiwarabeno Kura”, located in the back side of Lake Kawaguchi/ Katsuyama, permanently displays artwork of famed artist and talent Eiko Takagi. She expressively leaves her dolls faceless but real enough to imagine them singing or cheerfully playing in each scene. They are the scenes from the "old" days and of seasonal traditions. The folk stories, handed down from generation to generation, are told in the vivid artworks of the world of the paper doll children. Please explore the world painstakingly made with beautiful Japanese paper. There is also a lovely gift shop, and small cafe where you can relax slowly and soak in the atmosphere. There are sometimes workshops available in Japanese paper crafts. Please inquire.
