トップページ Season Winter

The lakeside winter is about snow, ice, and light. Every year one can see the customary winter fireworks display, "Kojounomai."

Under far reaching winter skies are countless events and occasions. Slip into some nice warm clothes and come for a visit.

Winter Fireworks: Kojyō no Mai and Kawaguchiko Fantasia of Light

An event for everyone to enjoy in Fujikawaguchiko Town. The local monuments and fir trees are illuminated with crisp colors in the Fantasia of Light. This is also combined with the stunning fireworks of the Kojyō no Mai fireworks display. Kojyō no Mai turns the dark night sky into a glittering display of light over lake Kawaguchiko. Once the show is over, why not take a dip in one of the local onsens (Japanese hot spring) to warm you up after the chilly night.

The Saiko / Kawaguchiko Ice Festival

In Fujikawaguchiko Town during winter, Juhyō Festival in Saiko’s Yachō no Mori Park and the Ice Garden event in Kawaguchiko’s Nashimiya Park are held. The sometimes 10 meter tall Juhyō, or `ice covered trees` are quite spectacular. Also, the various frozen lights displays in the area truly create an unreal atmosphere. One can see not only the art created by human hands, but also that created by nature; the amazing landscape, trees, and snow.

Grand fireworks display

To help motivate and remind everyone of their duty to create a beautiful and comfortable environment for everyone, Fujikawaguchiko Town established the yearly Mount Fuji Day, which is held on the 23rd of February. Fujikawaguchiko Town has created environmental regulations that are built on Yamanashi, Shizuoka, and Ryōken prefecture’s `Mount Fuji Charter` philosophy. By running these events, Fujikawaguchiko Town can collect data that it can use to make Fujikawaguchiko Town a better place for the tourism industry and the environment.
