When Fujikawaguchiko's long winter ends, the flowers come into bud and life floods into the streets.
Kawaguchiko's FujiZakura Festival.
The beautiful light pink FujiZakura, is also known as OtomeZakura, or "Maiden Cherry Blossom". In Fujikawaguchiko Town, the blooming of these flowers marks the beginning of the FujiZakura Festival. Visitors to the festival receive free FujiZakura seedlings, and countless specialty products are for sale.

Kawaguchiasama Thanksgiving Dance
Kawaguchiasama shrine where the shinto god Konohanasakuyahime is enshrined was created in 865AD. Every year on the 25th of April, a children's dance called magomimatsuri is offered to Konohanasakuyahime. Separately, the Daidaikagura festival is held here during July. Within the shrine the natural monument of the prefecture, Nanahonsugi (The Seven Japanese Cedar Trees.)

Fuji Omuro Sengen shrine annual festival
This is the festival of Fuji Omuro Sengen shrine in celebration of coming spring.
There are many street stalls by the roadside, it crowds with a lot of people who are invited to cherry blossoms.

Katsuyama's horseback archery festival
The festival with a history of over 900 years begins with the ceremony of entering battle, a ceremony that tells of the bravery of the samurai of feudal Japan. The ceremony ends in a dramatic display of real archery from horseback. At the sound of the drums, the horse dashes forward, kicking sand into the air. The archer aims and fires in an impressive display of marksmanship. This spectacular finale is like something from the picture scrolls of warring state period Japan.

Lake Motosuko's Royal Parade
The local town's folk don traditional dress and act as noblemen and their subjects while parading through the streets. During the 1500's, Hitoyanosuke Wakanabe, who was in charge of the border security of the prefecture now called Shizuoka, began this tradition to boost the morale of the younger generations. It is quite spectacular to see the leader's parade shout their rallying cry while maneuvering their traditional spears.
