Hoto is a famous local food. Noodles, pumpkin, and other vegetables are cooked in miso soup. Yoshida udon noodles, made using liberal amounts of water from Mt. Fuji, are characterized by firm and thick noodles topped with cabbage. Where there is fine water, good sake is made. Why not try the local sake of Ide brewery, the only sake brewery in this area, or local wine or local beer? Curry using dear meat is a new specialty. Dishes using lake smelt or trout are recommended, as well as grilled meat dishes. From June to October, you can enjoy fruit picking, such as of strawberries, blueberries and cherries.
